The Evolution of Our Clothes

Together with how we evolved over the years as what science suggests, we have learned to have this evolution from within us; we also evolved things around us. These human initiated transformations are evident on the things surrounding us. Every year technological advances are broadcasted all over the world. Things get advance every after year. And one of everyday human gears that are a proof of this so called evolution is our apparels. Clothing has been an instinct to man. Bible accounts suggests that after the fall of the first men, they where clothed with leaves to hide their nudity. Though the Bible account does not directly state the accepted reason behind clothing, it has suggested that humans barely need something to cover them up.

Ancient accounts and pictures also imply that human dress according to the temperature or the climate of the place they dwell. In the forests of the Amazon or the desserts of Africa, early settlers were seen to have wrap-around cloths while in Alaska, early dwellers were seen to have thick and feathery garments. Until such time that humans discovered other ways to make fibers and learned of different techniques of making clothes is why we have the clothes of today. From then on, we have used the fibers to make military uniforms, medical scrubs and coats, and so many other clothes. And thus the emergence of technological suits that are intentionally used for space with advanced cloth fibers able to protect the wearer more than its earthly counterpart.

Today, we have several innovations on cloths and clothing but is more likely currently available for military use, medical practices, or space explorations. The objective of scientists is to build clothes or uniforms that are lightweight, stain resistant, and has the ability of trapping heat for cold regions or cooling the body for the warm places. Other than this, they also visualize clothes that are water resistant or anything like that.

The medical field would be glad if scientist would provide them textiles that has the ability to resist stain or any liquid while rendering a light weight factor and just as comfortable as the medical scrubs today.

Today, NASA has been working on different materials that can be used for future space suits while they try to simplify complexities of the space suit designs so to fit with the design of our clothes today. Maybe in the years to come, we will have advanced clothes that can help us in our everyday lives and jobs.
